    Ommen and its region

    De Roos campsite is located in the centre of the region of Vechtdal, in the province of Overijssel. Discover one of the most beautiful regions in the Netherlands. Quaint villages and stunning natural areas are found one after the next along the Vecht river.

    Ommen: is a town boasting unique natural landscapes. Stroll through the pedestrian area, and discover the many shops and restaurants. There are also lots of different water activities for you to enjoy throughout the summer. Why not go on a pretty boat trip to discover the region.

    Beerze: with its low thatched cottages (also known as Saxon farms), this village is typical of the rural architecture of the Salland region.

    Giethoorn (60 km): a picturesque village known as the “Venice of the North”, Giethoorn is famous for its cottages with their thatched roofs dating back to the seventeenth century and its colourful flowerbeds. Stroll through the village’s little lanes or explore its many canals by boat.

    Keen walkers are in for a treat with the many different footpaths around the campsite offering breathtaking scenery. De Roos campsite is also an ideal departure point for runners, cyclists and swimmers looking to enjoy the clear water of the river Overijsselse Vecht.

    Kabouterland: in the heart of the village of Exloo, spend a wonderful day with the family discovering the region’s mystical animals; gnomes, trolls, and games of all kinds!

    Kruidenhoeve: go on a botanical outing and discover the woodland gardens, vegetable gardens, aromatic herbs, adventure trails and animals (bees, butterflies, donkeys…).
